1. What this preorder is
This preorder is a refundable reservation agreement. It is not the purchase of a ROOY hardware product.
Each ROOY set requires a one-time, refundable USD 50 deposit. You may reserve 1–5 sets per order, for a total deposit of USD 50–250. The purchase rights and preorder benefits described in these terms cover the number of ROOY sets recorded on that order.
If you complete the final purchase, the full deposit paid for that order will be credited toward the product price.
The preorder deposit is not the full purchase price and does not trigger shipment.
Paying the preorder deposit does not authorize ROOY to collect the rest of the product price automatically. ROOY will not save your payment method for a future automatic charge unless you separately provide authorization for another payment or service.
The final purchase is a separate sale transaction. Before you make the final payment, we will show you the final product price, your preorder discount, shipping costs, applicable taxes, delivery information, and the terms that apply to the final purchase.
You may cancel your preorder and request a full refund of the deposit paid for that order at any time before making the final payment.
2. Product price and your preorder discount
You receive 40% off each ROOY set, calculated using the lower of:
the published retail price of one ROOY set when final purchase opens; or
USD 299.
The USD 50 deposit paid for each ROOY set will then be credited in full toward the discounted product price.
The following example is calculated per ROOY set when the published retail price at final purchase is USD 299 or higher. Multiply the product amounts and deposit by the quantity in your order:
Discount calculation price per set: USD 299
40% preorder discount per set: USD 119.60
Discounted product price per set: USD 179.40
Deposit paid per set: USD 50
Remaining product price per set: USD 129.40
Shipping and applicable taxes are additional and are not subject to the 40% preorder discount.
If the published retail price when final purchase opens is below USD 299, the 40% discount will be calculated using that lower retail price.
We will show you the final product price, deposit credit, shipping costs, applicable taxes, and total amount due before you decide whether to complete the final purchase.
3. ROOY PRO subscription
Each ROOY set includes a 1-month ROOY PRO subscription. When you complete the final purchase under this preorder, each set also includes an additional year of ROOY PRO at no charge.
We will explain when the included 1-month period and the additional 1-year ROOY PRO period begin and how they follow one another before you complete the final purchase.
ROOY PRO features may be expanded, enhanced, or updated over time. We will identify the ROOY PRO subscription and the features available at the time of final purchase.
The included and additional subscription periods do not automatically renew into a paid subscription.
You will not be charged for ROOY PRO after the additional one-year period unless you separately choose a paid subscription and expressly authorize the payment.
4. Final purchase
When final purchase becomes available for your preorder, we will notify you using the email address associated with your preorder.
Before making the final payment, you will be able to review:
the product and applicable product specifications;
your preorder discount;
the deposit credit for your order;
the remaining product price;
your delivery address;
shipping costs;
applicable taxes;
estimated delivery information; and
the terms that apply to the final purchase.
You can then decide whether to complete the purchase or cancel your preorder and request a full refund of your deposit.
Your preorder remains refundable until you make the final payment.
Once you make the final payment, the deposit paid for your order is applied to the completed purchase and the preorder reservation is fulfilled. Any cancellation, return, refund, warranty, or other rights relating to the completed purchase will then be governed by the Final Purchase Terms, the applicable product policies, and applicable law.
Paying the preorder deposit does not guarantee immediate delivery or a particular launch date.
5. Preorder validity
Your preorder is valid for one year from the date your deposit payment is confirmed.
If you complete the final purchase during that period, your preorder benefits will be applied to that purchase.
If you cancel your preorder during that period, you may request a full refund of your deposit as described below.
If ROOY has not made final purchase available for your preorder before the one-year period expires, ROOY will cancel the preorder and return the deposit paid for that order to the original payment method, unless we notify you that the preorder period has been extended and give you the option to continue or receive a full refund.
ROOY will not cause your deposit to become non-refundable merely because the one-year preorder period expires.
6. Cancelling your preorder and refunding your deposit
You may cancel your preorder and request a full refund of the deposit paid for that order at any time before making the final payment. Refunds for only some ROOY sets in an order are not currently supported.
You can request the refund through your preorder account or through another refund method made available by ROOY.
Once you request a refund, the related preorder eligibility, 40% discount, deposit credit, and other preorder benefits will be placed on hold while the refund is processed.
ROOY will submit the refund to your original payment method within 30 days after receiving your refund request.
After ROOY submits the refund, your bank, card issuer, or payment network determines when the refund appears in your account.
Once the full refund has been successfully issued, the purchase eligibility, 40% discount, deposit credit, and other benefits associated with that preorder are cancelled.
If the original payment method cannot receive the refund, contact us at contact@rooy.ai so we can determine an appropriate refund method, subject to identity and payment verification.
If a refund or payment dispute concerning the same deposit is already in progress, we may pause a duplicate refund while that transaction is being resolved.
7. Preordering again after a refund
After a full refund has been completed, you may place a new preorder using the same email address if preorders are still available.
Any new preorder will be subject to the terms, pricing, benefits, availability, and other conditions offered at the time the new preorder is placed.
The new preorder will have its own preorder number and benefits.
Records relating to previous preorders, payments, cancellations, refunds, or payment disputes may be retained as required for payment reconciliation, fraud prevention, legal compliance, customer support, and recordkeeping.
8. Product and program changes
The ROOY product is still being prepared for final purchase and launch.
Product specifications, features, packaging, estimated launch timing, delivery timing, and supported regions may change before final purchase opens.
ROOY PRO may also receive new or expanded features over time.
If we make a material change to the product, preorder benefits, price calculation, supported availability, or delivery arrangements that adversely affects your preorder, we will explain the change before you make the final payment.
You may then decide whether to continue with the final purchase or cancel your preorder and request a full refund of your deposit.
Nothing in these terms requires you to accept a material change in order to receive a refund of your preorder deposit.
9. Available regions
Planned initial markets for the ROOY preorder program are:

The countries available on the preorder page when you place your preorder are the markets currently supported by the preorder program.
Availability may change before final purchase.
If ROOY cannot offer final purchase in the country or region associated with your preorder, you may cancel your preorder and receive a full refund of the deposit paid for that order.
10. Order quantity and purchase rights
Each order reserves eligibility to purchase the number of ROOY sets recorded on that order, from 1 to 5 sets.
An order may not be split across other products or used to purchase more ROOY sets than the quantity recorded on that order.
The preorder, preorder discount, deposit credit, and related preorder benefits may not be transferred to another person unless ROOY expressly allows a transfer.
Except for a refund of the deposit as described in these terms, preorder eligibility, discounts, credits, subscription benefits, and other preorder benefits cannot be exchanged for cash.
11. Payment currency and currency conversion
The preorder deposit is denominated in U.S. dollars (USD).
Your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may convert the USD amount into another currency and may apply its own exchange rate or fees.
ROOY does not control exchange rates or fees applied by your bank, card issuer, or payment provider.
If a refund is converted into another currency, the amount displayed or received in your local currency may differ from the amount originally shown because of changes in exchange rates or fees applied by your payment provider.
ROOY will refund the amount of the deposit received by ROOY, subject to these terms and applicable law.
12. Preorder status and records
Your preorder status is determined using verified payment, refund, cancellation, final purchase, and payment dispute records.
You can view available preorder information through your preorder account.
If you believe your preorder status, payment status, refund status, or benefits are incorrect, contact contact@rooy.ai and include your preorder number so we can review the relevant records.
13. If ROOY cancels the preorder program
If ROOY decides not to continue the preorder program or cannot offer you the opportunity to complete the final purchase, we will notify you.
Any preorder deposit that has not already been applied to a completed final purchase will be refunded to the original payment method.
If ROOY makes another material change that affects your preorder, we will notify you before you make the final payment and give you the option to cancel your preorder and receive a full refund.
14. Final purchase, returns, and warranties
Your preorder is separate from the final purchase of the ROOY hardware product.
Before you make the final payment, we will provide the terms applicable to the final purchase, including relevant information concerning payment, delivery, returns, refunds, warranties, and other applicable product policies.
After you make the final payment, cancellation, return, refund, and warranty rights relating to the hardware purchase will be governed by those Final Purchase Terms, applicable product policies, and applicable law.
Nothing in these Preorder Terms limits any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Preorder Terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Subject to any rights you have under applicable law, disputes arising out of or relating to these Preorder Terms may be brought before the courts of Hong Kong.
This does not prevent you from bringing a claim before another court or using another dispute-resolution process where you have a non-waivable right to do so under applicable consumer law.
Nothing in these Preorder Terms limits, excludes, or waives any consumer protection, statutory right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited, excluded, or waived under the laws applicable to you.
16. Changes to these terms
We record the version of the Preorder Terms that you accept when you place your preorder.
You can view the applicable version through your preorder account.
We may update these terms for future preorders.
An update to the general terms does not by itself replace the version you previously accepted.
If a change needs to apply to an existing preorder and materially affects your price, preorder benefits, purchase eligibility, or other material rights, we will explain the change to you.
You may cancel your preorder and request a full refund of your deposit rather than accept a material adverse change before making the final payment.
